"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall" (Helaman 5:12)

I wanted to share a thought that I had in church on Sunday. In Relief Society we were talking about goals and overwhelming all the goals that the women wanted to set were: do all the dishes, do laundry, less facebook, play with my kids... And I kept thinking those are good goals, but they are only in one area of your lives. I don't think being a mother isn't important, but I feel like part of our earthy experience is to gain knowledge, explore, learn and develop as individuals. While doing dishes is a good thing, I think that women of the church of Latter-day saints should also make goals to better themselves intellectually to become whole people. We should be making goals like read Machiavelli or if you are more scientifically minded, read a particular scientific journal. Something that is interesting and helps you develop as a person and not a label.
